grass tutorial by jerry8448 grass tutorial by jerry8448
A couple of people have asked me how I paint grass, one of them just recently. It's really quite simple, so I put together a quick little tutorial. Hopefully it'll be of use to some of you out there... ;)

For your information: I use Photosop Elements 7 and a brush set, which you can download from dA's leventep: [link] (there's a link in one of his journal entries)

I don't like using custom grass brushes like the ones Photoshop comes with, as anybody remotely familiar with photoshop will be able to recognize the pattern later on.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. Its so simple and yet looks great

I thought I'd show you that I used it to improve my grass from

Its much better thank you :D

Also I'd like to mention that its possible to do this in other programs. I did it in chibi paint on the Broekaki :)

Thanks again!

extremely helpful tutorial! Now I can make realistic-looking digital grass weather or not it's cell shaded or soft shaded without the use of ugly fake grass brushes!

Nice work! But I wouldn't have used the airbrush-pen. Try using a brush with hard edges. That should help ;)
