It movedSusan sat up in bed. She had only just woken up, but her mind was already running fast, and a strange feeling had taken hold of her.
The shadow of her bed painted an odd silhouette onto the floor, but it was only barely visible in the darkness of the room. The bed was made completely of wood and decorated with rough carvings that added to the oddness of the shadow on the crumpled carpet.
Susan's pillow was laying on the floor next to her doll Lucy. The doll's painted eyes were staring directly at her, and despite their lifeless state they seemed to move for just a split second. Though she knew that wasn't possible Susan had definitely noticed

This is a remake of an older picture I did a few years ago. I'l probably upload the old version to my scras, so you can see the difference.
The idea was good, but everything else was lousy, so I basically started from scratch again. Wanted to finish this in Febuary, but couldn't find the time.

Quite a remarkable difference. There's definitely a greater sense of gloom and loneliness. The darker skies and alley make things so much more frightening, and her pose seems to be more numbed than hopeful. The teddy bear is a grim reminder that she's had to grow up way too fast.

Candles in the grass seem very dangerous, but opposed to being trapped in one little spot without being able to see would be even worse if there are hungry creatures about.
