It's great! Shocked me -pleasantly- to find a cello when searching for "enchated forest" : ) just when I'm about to start to play it. I discovered it last year and decided to switch from violin to cello, my real 'thing'. It's been a pleasant surprise, you categoraized it right ; ) Dislike the skull, though. If I could be able to paint, I'll surely do a version of this for myself, to hang on my study wall: still mainly green/brown with some touches of violet and blue, to give it a certain mystic touch... maybe at nightfall, and the bird woudl surely be an owl! (I love those heheh!). Don't mean to criticize at all, it's just the idea popping in my head and so I wrote it :$ As I said, I love it, great work! I'll just shout up and keep browsing... hehe!
Thanks^^ In the arts, vanitas is a type of symbolic work of art especially associated with baroque still life paintings during the 16th and 17th centuries. "Vanitas" loosely translated corresponds to the meaninglessness of earthly life, and musical instruments and skulls were popular symbols, which is why I chose to add the latter. The forest and the bird are just part of my personal way of handling the subject
