~o~ Two Sides To Every Story ~o~

If you haven't seen my pic "Magic Gateway", then please go take a look at it now, as these pics are ment as a set ->

This was kind of an experiment and I'm not really satisfied with it, especially the background. For some reason I always have trouble painting bright landscapes compared to my darker stuff :P Feel free to post suggestions on how I could improve this.

I'll probably fool around with this some more later.

Greets,
Jerry :)

-Edit-
Wow! - My in-box is about to explode. There is no way I could possibly thank everyone for the favs at there own sites, so let me say it here: THANK YOU! :)

I'm not quite sure what you mean "i thing its being a bright landscape, looks a little Darker" , but thanks^^

Some blurry parts need more work, imho.

i mean, that in fact this is a kind of paradise, its notable for the flowers, the bird over the gate, and things like that, but for sure i could notice that the atmosphere its a little dark, i mean, the low saturation, the form of that tree, looks a little creepy, and the colossus in the background...

what i mean, its that as you say, looks like as you like more the darkest themes, your stile its guided by that way.

blehh sorry for my bad english! o__n!

Ah, now I get what you're saying. Hadn't even thought of it that way yet.

I guess pictures with soft lighting is harder to paint because there are less contrasts to work with. I think its tougher to create depth that way, so I usually stick to the darker tones. ;)

Well, I don't really have experience in backgrounds; the only thing that doesn't match is that dragonfly on the right; I'd move it somewhere else, cause it destroys a bit effect of that creatures, walking far away.
And two rocks on the foreground - one on the left and one on the right - in my opinion shouldn't be so symmetric.

I hope it will be helpful to you, although that's just a few thoughts of amateur. ^^;

Every little bit helps :) I moved the dragonfly, made the silhouettes off in the distance slightly darker and changed the rock on the right a little...
:iconjerry8448:
Oh, there's plenty of other crap there too ;)
:iconeldrianne:
That's better I think.

I'm glad to be helpful. ^^

I like the reversal, the colours lend a nice pleasant setting, really like the oriental feel.

Suggestions, well you gotto have butterflies right?
