The Last Butterfly by jerry8448 The Last Butterfly by jerry8448
~o~ The Last Butterfly ~o~

I uploaded the sketch along with two others some time in late January or early Febuary. Finally got around to coloring it. Not sure about the category, but animals will do for now.
Enjoy :)

I am amazed by this piece.
I love how it represents how humanity is always trying to grasp beautiful, sweet, and luminous hope.

Very emotional piece.  It makes me think of how grasping humanity is, and how easily what we reach for can be destroyed.  But the butterfly is still out of reach--which is very good for its continued survival, I think :)

Another very beautiful picture of yours. However it leaves a sad aftertaste. ^^"

Those humans have devastated everything. Even after spotting some rare and beautiful piece of life (the only beauty that is left probably) they cannot stop and rise their greedy hands to capture and tear it apart.. ('Me! Me! It's mine! I will have it! Give it to me!')

Ah well... Like it very much! :3

this is brilliant, its like an extreme yet REALISTIC metaphor for what it will be like once we've destroyed nearly all other species on this planet. the saying, you dont know what you got till its gone, fits quite well.
would be great to have this on a billboard in a really busy/polluted city!
