[...] Though the cities start to crumble And the towers fall around us The sun is slowly fading And its colder than the sea It is written from the desert To the mountains they shall lead us By the hand and by the heart They will comfort you and me In their innocence and trusting They will teach us to be free For the children and the flowers Are my sisters and my brothers Their laughter and their loveliness Could clear a cloudy day [...]
This weekend I was listening to some old John Denver CDs I hadn't heard for a while. "Rhymes And Reasons" is kind of sad but beautiful nonetheless and one of my all time favourite songs... I guess you could call this a tribute, though a very personal interpretation.
BTW, there's a Work-In-Progress-Version of this in my scraps-section, if your interested.

This is exceptionally beautiful, but also very sad. It must be a while after a terrible war that killed everyone on both sides. That white flag either came to late or was simply not accepted by the opposing army. All that remains are ruins... and the girl with special powers. She knows that, while she can’t undo what’s been done, she can still fix and save what’s left. She could be going to look for any survivors that she could help. Beside the girl, there are other little bits of hopefulness, such as the shining sun and the birds that somehow managed to survive. The only criticism I have is that some of the shadows in the foreground are pointing different ways, but that could just be your artistic decision to have them leading out from the center to draw the eye towards the girl and city beyond.
The shadows are leading out from the center, because that's where the sun is. I realize it's hard to tell though and it really isn't perfect^^ Thanks for the comment
Also ich finde es top! Mag solches Genre.
